Education: Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training
Credentials (certificates, licenses, memberships, courses, etc.): Electrical Mechanic Trade Certification, Motor Winder Trade Certification
Experience: 5 years or more
Major Work Area: Maintenance, Repair, Testing, Service
Area of Specialization: Electric motors, Industrial motors
Specific Skills: Test and observe electrical and mechanical conditions of equipment, Troubleshoot and repair faulty equipment, Repair or replace components and wiring, Wind, assemble and install various types of coils, Perform static or dynamic balancing of armatures or rotors, Test to ensure proper performance, Perform on-site servicing and repair
Additional Skills: Read blueprints, Use machining tools to fabricate or recondition parts, Weld or braze components
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Handling heavy loads, Standing for extended periods, Bending, crouching, kneeling
