Part-time ongoing roles based in our Ivanhoe Residential Withdrawal Unit.

Your new role

The Senior Registered Nurse at Curran Place, a 16-bed inpatient withdrawal unit in Ivanhoe, provides clinical leadership and supports the Nurse Unit Manager in the day-to-day operation of the service. Working collaboratively with medical practitioners, nurse practitioners, and multidisciplinary staff, the role ensures the safe and effective delivery of withdrawal treatment for adults, including mothers with their babies, experiencing alcohol and other drug dependence.

Key responsibilities include:

Supporting the day-to-day clinical and operational management of the inpatient withdrawal service.

Providing clinical leadership, guidance, and supervision to nursing staff.

Ensuring a safe, welcoming, and recovery-focused environment for consumers.

Assisting with complex clinical decision-making, service coordination, and stakeholder liaison.

Contributing to service planning and the continuous improvement of care delivery.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will be a registered Division 1 or Division 3 Nurse with a passion for delivering high-quality care to people experiencing alcohol and other drug (AOD) issues. You will bring strong clinical judgement, leadership capability, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, rotating shift environment.

Essential qualifications and experience:

Current Victorian Registration as a Division 1 or Division 3 Nurse.

Competencies in dual diagnosis or a qualification in an Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) or drug dependency-related field.

Previous experience supporting people experiencing problematic alcohol and/or other drug use.

Knowledge of alcohol and other drug treatment interventions.

Experience managing complex consumer behaviours.

Understanding of the demands of working within a rotating shift environment.

Demonstrated leadership experience, skills, and training.
