Bellarine Community Health is currently seeking a credentialled Mental Health Occupational Therapist to join our Mental Health team 3 days, 22.8 hours per week in a fixed term role until 30 September 2027.

We are looking for a clinician who can provide Community Health and NDIS services to an established client base and enhance our mental health team. BCH deliver evidence-based services across our sites, within schools and in client’s homes. We are interested in hearing from experienced Mental Health Occupational Therapists who have an interest in working within a multidisciplinary dedicated youth health team and setting.

About the Team

The Youth Health and Wellbeing team provide a diverse range of primary health care services to the increasing population of the Bellarine Peninsula. Currently, we deliver services across our sites including headspace Ocean Grove, BCH youth services, Doctors in Secondary School clinic, within schools and community settings.

The Youth team provide a multidisciplinary primary care services for young people primarily aged 12-25 years, comprised of a dynamic, collaborative, and friendly group of Mental Health Professional, Nurses, Mental Health Workers, Youth and Community Engagement Workers, Dietitian, and General Practitioners. The team work alongside co-located external providers.

About the role

The Mental Health Occupational Therapist is focused on the provision of mental health counselling and support for a case load of young people accessing BCH Youth services. This includes the provision of evidence based counselling and psychosocial support and may include the provision of short-medium term interventions including group programs and centre-based or outreach support.

We would like to hear from you, if you have…

Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy and post-grad qualifications in Mental Health.

Credentialled Mental Health Occupational Therapist through Occupational Therapy Australia and full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Eligibility for Medicare provider number to enable service provision through mental health care plans.

Ability to work in a dynamic, challenging and changing environment and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Demonstrated experience in delivering evidence based therapeutic intervention and counselling.

Excellent demand management skills.

An understanding of the principles of community health.

Experience and/or understanding of NDIS supports.

High levels of professionalism, positivity, confidentiality and discretion and ability to operate with a collaborative approach.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with strong organisational and time management skills and the ability to prioritise a complex and competing workload.
