Virtual Greens is looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to take the lead in our kitchen and become a key part of our team.

We’re a golf simulator and sports bar bringing together great food, drinks, sport and entertainment in one fun, modern venue. With six golf simulators, a fully licensed bar and a modern pub-style menu, we’re all about creating a relaxed atmosphere where people can come for a hit, a feed, a drink to or all three.

We’re looking for someone who is ready to take ownership of the kitchen, lead the team and help us create a food offering we’re proud of.

About the role

As our Head Chef, you’ll oversee the day-to-day running of the kitchen and work closely with management to make sure service runs smoothly and consistently.

You’ll have the opportunity to bring your own ideas to the table, have input into the menu and help shape the way our kitchen operates.

We want someone who can create great pub-style food, maintain high standards and build a kitchen environment that is organised, efficient and enjoyable to work in.

What you’ll be doing

Leading and supporting the kitchen team

Preparing and delivering quality modern and classic pub-style meals

Managing day-to-day kitchen operations and service

Maintaining consistency, portion control and presentation

Contributing to menu development and new ideas

Managing ordering, stock levels and stock rotation

Monitoring food costs and reducing unnecessary wastage

Managing kitchen rosters and labour requirements

Maintaining food safety, hygiene and kitchen standards

Establishing and maintaining kitchen procedures

Training and supporting kitchen staff

Keeping the kitchen organised and service-ready

Working closely with management and the wider Virtual Greens team

About you

We’re looking for someone who is experienced, organised and confident leading a kitchen, but who also brings a great attitude to work.

You’ll be able to keep your cool during a busy service, communicate well with your team and take genuine pride in the food leaving your kitchen.

Previous Head Chef experience would be ideal, however we’d also love to hear from an experienced Sous Chef who is ready to step up and take ownership of their own kitchen.

You’ll have relevant cookery qualifications, a strong understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements and excellent communication and leadership skills.

Applicants will also need to currently hold suitable working rights in Australia, as unfortunately we’re not in a position to offer visa sponsorship for this role.

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who is reliable, positive, passionate about good food and keen to be part of a great team.
