Advanced Drupal Developer
Wmode is a fast paced Calgary-based app management company for connected devices with a passionate and entrepreneurial team in a fun environment. We are making waves in the app economy by delivering custom app and content distribution systems to a number of major organizations. This includes the rapidly evolving mobile device, connected car, enterprise, and TV markets.
We are looking for a creative Drupal Developer who has strong design, development and troubleshooting skills to assist in creating usable and innovative services and features for our diverse clients. In addition, this position requires strong verbal and written skills, and the ability to work well independently once given guidance.
We are taking Drupal to new and interesting places, where few companies have taken it before. As an Advanced Drupal Developer, you will lead this effort, working with project managers, marketing and software developers to create, develop, and support cutting edge applications and services for our innovative ACE™ and AppCarousel™ product, and other PC and mobile applications and web sites. You will also be responsible for:
    Evaluating Drupal modules to determine if they are suitable to meet the requirements of the product.
    Using or customizing existing Drupal modules to provide innovative services for our customers.
    Creating, testing, and integrating new Drupal modules as required.
    Working with other team members to configure and setup Drupal systems.
    Supporting test and production Drupal systems when problems arise that cannot be solved by the technical support teams.
    Creating demo systems for Wmode or other customers using Drupal.
    Design and code reviews of Drupal modules developed by yourself or others.
    Training other Wmode personnel in Drupal and helping them with Drupal questions or problems.
    Providing effort estimates for new or enhanced features or systems using Drupal.
    Supporting the sales team in promoting our Drupal CMS solutions and services to customers. This may require occasional trips to potential customers to describe our Drupal services and capabilities.
You must have strong design, troubleshooting, and Drupal development skills, and be able to use them to create usable and innovative services and features. You must be creative, have strong verbal and written communication skills, and work well independently after receiving general guidance and direction.
You must provide a portfolio of Drupal modules you have created or modified and Drupal systems that you have been involved in and your role on those projects.
Requirements:
    Five to eight years of experience in developing and deploying Drupal modules.
    Developed and deployed a Drupal system to a customer.
    Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    Drupal internals expert.
    Knows Drupal modules and has lots of hands on experience using Drupal.
    Can evaluate Drupal modules for potential use, or as a starting point, for use on projects.
    Has modified existing Drupal modules.
    Can debug deep Drupal problems on development and production systems.
    Work well in a team environment; training and helping other developers learn and get familiar with Drupal.
    Excellent English written and verbal communications skills.
    Good customer facing skills.
    Ability to travel and talk to potential customers concerning our features and capabilities with Drupal.
Preferred:
    Experience setting up Drupal deployments in Amazon EC2.
    Created and submitted at least one new Drupal module into the Drupal community.
    Experience with development frameworks for evelopment framework evelopment framework mobile applications.
    Experience creating and developing Android applications, BB applications, and/or iPhone applications that integrate with Drupal backend services.
    Drupal 8 experience.
    Experience developing web page content for PCs, tablets, and mobile devices with HTML5 and CSS that integrate with Drupal backend services.
