The Patient Flow Support Unit (PFSU) operates as a critical, hospital-wide service that functions 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure seamless patient movement and optimal utilisation of resources.  This unit plays a pivotal role in maintaining operational efficiency and supporting clinical teams by proactively managing patient access and flow across all care settings.

Salary range: 70.92 to 77.00 p.h. (NG7)

4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading

About your opportunity:

The Nurse Manager Patient Flow Support Unit is responsible for the management of the resources and activities that support clinical access, patient flow and hospital operations across a 24-hour period, 7 days a week.

The Nurse Manager has key responsibilities for proactively managing patient access, patient flow, staffing replacement and bed capacity management across the hospital. The Nurse Manager is responsible for the Townsville University Hospital campus management outside business hours.

This is a fixed term temporary part-time position, working 64 hours per fortnight, commencing 31/05/2027 to 05/12/2027, with the possibility of an additional 12 month extension. This includes various periods of leave within the next 12 months.

Requirements:

Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration (AHPRA).

Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster.

This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
