We are seeking an experienced Drilling Superintendent to lead exploration drilling activities at our Selinsing Gold Project in Malaysia. We welcome applications from Perth-based candidates interested in an overseas site opportunity.

This role suits a hands-on drilling leader with strong practical knowledge of drilling equipment, crew supervision, maintenance coordination and operational performance, together with an understanding of exploration data quality.

About the role

Reporting to the Exploration Manager, you will oversee the planning, execution and reporting of exploration drilling programs. You will also coordinate with the Site General Manager on site operational matters. Your team will include the Drilling Supervisor, Exploration Geologists, Core Yard Technicians, Drill Crew and Drill Rig Mechanic.

Key responsibilities

Lead safe and efficient drilling operations to achieve approved drill metres, schedules, budgets and KPIs.

Assist with drilling program design, budgeting and field implementation in collaboration with the exploration team.

Supervise drilling crews and contractors, ensuring appropriate competency, work standards and performance.

Plan rig allocation, mobilisation, site access and drilling support requirements.

Monitor rig availability, utilisation, penetration rates, metres drilled, downtime and cost per metre.

Troubleshoot operational issues and coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs to improve equipment reliability.

Manage drilling tools, spare parts and consumables to support uninterrupted operations.

Ensure core recovery, orientation, downhole surveys, core handling and sampling meet approved procedures and QA/QC requirements.

Maintain accurate, complete and auditable drilling records and support geological interpretation and technical reporting.

Manage drilling expenditure, verify contractor meterage and invoices, and control maintenance and consumable costs.

About you

Demonstrated experience supervising exploration drilling operations, ideally in gold exploration.

Strong practical knowledge of drill rigs, drilling techniques, equipment performance and troubleshooting.

Proven experience managing drilling crews, supervisors and contractors.

The ability to plan drilling programs and improve productivity, rig utilisation and cost performance.

An understanding of core recovery, core handling, sampling, downhole surveys and geological data quality.

Experience with drilling budgets, contractor performance, inventory control and operational reporting.

A strong commitment to safety, workforce development and continuous improvement.

Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively across technical and operational teams.
