Shift Supervisor
My client is looking for a Shift Supervisor with Plastic Extrusion experience; please see below for more info. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, responsible for managing a production shift team. As you might not be managing a team on the onset you will be expected to be filing in for other Shift Supervisors and will be assigned to different production related projects and assignments as business requires. Monitoring and coordinating the Production activities, personnel and machinery to enhance effective and efficient operation and improvement thereof. DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES, BUT NOT LIMITED: To supervise and manage a production shift / stand-in supervisor to build team spirit within your production shift To mentor the shift leader and impart your knowledge and experience to him. To ensure effective start-up of production machinery To make running adjustments to production machinery To undertake running repairs on machinery To perform tool / product changes To perform ongoing maintenance tasks To attend to all breakdowns, minimizing downtime To ensure that scrap production is minimized & effectively reprocessed (Material Management)To ensure that production efficiencies are maximized ensure safety and cleanliness of the entire work place To carry out laboratory tests and take necessary corrective action To log machine parameters To ensure compliance with our ISO9001 quality system, maintain Quality standards and procedures To perform project tasks as directed Carry out any other tasks requested by management Ensuring compliance with OHSACT To maintain and control tools and equipment Be fair & firm ensuring compliance with factory rules and carrying out disciplinary action where necessary To work overtime / weekends when required Conduct Best Practice Training Sessions WORKING HOURS: The present shift cycle as outlined below: Morning shift from 07h00 to 15h15Afternoon shift from 15h00 to 23h15.Night shift from 23h00 to 07h15.
