Location: Vancouver,British Columbia,Canada

Position: Vancouver Distribution Coordinator
Organization: Skipper Otto's Community Supported Fishery (CSF)
Location: Vancouver, British Columbia
Skipper Otto’s Community Supported Fishery (CSF) is a fishermen-led organization that transforms the way in which seafood is produced, consumed, and valued. Founded in 2008, Skipper Otto’s was the first Community Supported Fishery in Canada, and the second world-wide. We create direct connections between local fishermen and consumers with the joint goal of protecting ocean resources and increasing food sovereignty by creating an alternative to the dominant model of export-oriented industrial food production.
The CSF supports small-scale, independent fishermen by providing them with a fair price for their catch and assistance with high up-front costs. As a result, these fishermen can continue to fish and support their families without having to switch to destructive fishing practices. CSF customers greatly value and receive benefit from the boat-to-fork transparency that the CSF model provides. They know how, when, where, and who caught their fish.
It is Skipper Otto’s aim to engage local students with their regional food system and create opportunities to learn about community-supported food models through hands-on experience. We are a small and rapidly growing business, with a dynamic, vibrant, and exciting work environment and many opportunities for professional development. We are looking for engaged, passionate, and dedicated individuals who can apply their knowledge and creativity to our exciting social enterprise in a mutually beneficial collaboration.
