We are seeking an enthusiastic Social Worker, or equivalent, with expertise in mental health to join our Assertive Mental Health Outreach Team located in St Kilda.  You will be responsible for providing proactive and recovery focussed engagement with people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, appear to be experiencing significant symptoms of mental illness, and are not already linked into services. Indigenous people experiencing homelessness is also particular focus of this role.

To be considered for this position you are required to have: A professional qualification of Social Work or equivalent and either appropriate registration with professional organization, or eligibility for registration with the AASW.

Experience and demonstrated ability in the provision of recovery focused rehabilitation and support services to persons with psychiatric disability as a result of serious mental illness and/or AOD issues.

Comprehensive knowledge and application of mental state examination and mental health risk assessment.

Demonstrated skills in effective provision of services to persons experiencing homelessness.

People with experience working with Indigenous people will be highly regarded.
