Organisation Overview: Fighting Chance is a non-profit organisation which exists to enrich the lives of young adults with disabilities in Australia. We believe that no Australian adult should be prevented from pursuing their ambitions and fulfilling their potential simply because they have a disability. Yet the stark reality is that 85% of young adults with profound disabilities in Australia experience life-long unemployment and have just one-tenth the opportunity for social participation outside the home compared with the “average” Australian.

Through the creation of innovative training programs and social businesses, Fighting Chance provides opportunities for meaningful social participation, employment and skill development to young people with the most significant disabilities in our community.

We are seeking an energetic and vibrant person who shares our vision of a rich future for Australians with disabilities, to join our growing team as Executive Assistant to the CEO.

Position Overview: Fighting Chance is seeking an energetic and highly organised EA to undertake the following roles: Deal with email and phone enquiries in a professional and polished manner, Diary management and travel bookings, Taking minutes and notes at meetings, Drafting correspondence and reports. Work with the CEO to provide support around all core duties and one-off projects, including budgeting, strategy development, fundraising, events planning, etc. Organizing stakeholder communications, such as newsletters and webinars. Responsible for receipting all donations and management of organisation’s database. Responsible for administration tasks such as photocopying, mail management, filing, banking, resource bookings etc. Responsible for incoming and outgoing mail and shipping. Provide support for communications: maintain database, assist with communications schedule and social media updates. Provide support for human resources: interview schedule, applicant pool, resume files Responsible for the recruitment and management of volunteers, Undertake reception duties: present a professional, welcoming first contact to all participants, donors, corporate partners etc. Provide ad hoc support to the rest of the Fighting Chance team

Skills required: Applicants must have: An ability to confidently relate to, and understand the needs of people with a physical disability; Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or industry experience supporting busy teams; Experience in office and administrative duties. Personal Assistant experience a plus; Excellent IT Skills; Excellent communication skills, phone manner and English skills; eliable and trustworthy individual who learns quickly; Attention to detail; The ability to take direction and also work independently; The ability to meet deadlines; Dynamic, energetic approach to work.
