We enable the development of responsible, market-ready business professionals, with a global outlook, through outstanding learning experiences. We are now preparing for applications to obtain ELICOS provider license. Our goal is to become one of TOP FIVE best ELICOS providers in Sydney CBD, offering students with the best student support and highest quality in ELICOS teaching and learning at the most modern facilities. The main courses include: General English, EAP and IELTS preparation.

The Scots English College, located on Level 11, York Street, Sydney NSW 2000, consists of high standard class-rooms and functional rooms (such as computer room, library, school kitchen.), equipped with the most modern in-door facilities.

We are seeking no wan entrepreneurial, innovative and visionary leader with exceptional character and demonstrated academic and management excellence to serve as CEO of The Scots English College.

The salary and allowance will be subject to candidate’s skills and experiences.

The Role: As the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), you will be responsible for providing strategic direction, leadership and management of The Scots English College in order to maximise the achievement of The College’s vision, mission, values and goals. You will achieve this high performance by building an effective and cohesive academic and professional team, characterized by its constructive, collaborative and innovative culture. You will provide advice to the Board of Directors on the strategic positioning, academic leadership and enterprise management of the College. Your focus will be on the governance and management of the College, its human, physical and financial resources and academic quality, providing strategic leadership to the College in teaching, research, professional activity and community engagement.

Key Accountabilities: 1. Demonstrated experience in the role of CEO or Principal or Sales and Marketing Managerfor an ELICOS provider in either Sydney or Australia.

2. Hard working, Strong-driven, proactive, able to delegate (energy and passion for winning), focused on agreed targets and outcomes.

3. Strong leadership, management and organizational skills

4. Responsible for the academic and financial out comes of The College.

5. Build and manage relationships with key clients and external stakeholders.

6. Represent the College to and build networks and raise awareness of the Scots English College brand and value proposition within the broader business community.

7. Oversee the development and implementation of strategies aimed at:

a. improving teaching quality, capacity and capability within The College

b. increasing/ensuring efficiency, improving client service levels and enhancing the student experience across all aspects of The College operations

c. Maximising awareness of The College brand, ensuring growth in student numbers and increasing profitability.

8. Work effectively with The College’s Board of Directors to develop the vision, provide commercial leadership and oversee the implementation of The College’s wide strategies.

9. Oversee regulatory compliance and governance within The College.

10. Oversee the development and implementation of The College’s wide policies, systems, processes and procedures.

11. Comply with relevant State and Commonwealth government work place legislation.

1. Demonstrated experience in: a. Sales and Marketing for an ELICOS provider(Experience for an ELICOS provider in Sydney is desirable).

b. Understanding of ELICOS education sector, ELICOS courses and markets (demands of clients and prospective students)

c. Successfully arranging, leading and managing staffs, DOS and teachers

d. Building a client service, performance and continuous improvement culture.

2. Appropriate postgraduate qualifications, normally a doctoral qualification or equivalent accreditation and standing, with a strong record as an academic together with a distinguished level of attainment in academic leadership and management.

3. Strong commercial acumen and a successful record of entrepreneurship evidenced through identifying, building and supporting strategic partnerships and relationships with industry, education, government and the community.

4. Demonstrated ability to achieve key outcomes by balancing engagement in consultative planning and decision making, to develop a sense of unity, cooperation and common purpose amongst staff, with promotion of a high performance culture and a results focus.

5. Demonstrated capacity to lead and manage the strengthening of the teaching, scholarly and professional activities throughout the College, and effectively engage with the diversity of disciplines and professions.

6. Extensive experience in successfully leading and managing financial, physical and human resource management and business operations particularly demonstrated successful people management, consultation, negotiation and conflict management skills, with a track record of achieving trust, teamwork, commitment and cohesion.

7. Demonstrated high level ability to provide strategic advice and establish and maintain effective relationships with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders

8. Understanding of the Australian ELICOS education context

9. Demonstrated understanding and effective implementation of workplace policies consistent with relevant State and Commonwealth government legislation

10. Providing effective communication with related Government bodies (ASQA).

11. Capable to make the capacity of the College full with students (at least 80% of capacity).
