Alzheimer’s Australia Vic is recognised as the peak body representing the interests of, and providing a range of specialist services to, people with dementia, their families and carers in Victoria. We pride ourselves on valuing and supporting people living with dementia.
A temporary position has become available in our Strategic Initiatives team for an experienced Research Officer to fill a maternity leave vacancy.
The role will be responsible for:
    Undertaking project development, participant recruitment, data analysis and research translation related to nominated research projects and activities.
    Participating in producing research project reports, papers and presentations.
    Undertaking appropriate literature reviews as required.
    Contributing to development and maintenance of written and online resources related to dementia and dementia risk reduction.
    Performing general administrative tasks which contribute to the research program.
The position will show skill in data analysis and research translation, and work independently with appropriate supervision to fulfil the position objectives.
Key Selection Criteria:
    At least a Bachelor (Hons) degree in public health, psychology or relevant discipline (preferably a postgraduate degree), with at least one year of subsequent relevant research experience OR an equivalent combination of experience and training.
    Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of a research team.
    Demonstrated capacity to maintain accurate and detailed records of work being undertaken.
    Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    Demonstrated experience of research project implementation, qualitative and quantitative analysis, research report preparation, and delivering research presentations.
    Demonstrated familiarity and expertise with SPSS statistics software.
    High level computer skills and familiarity with smart phone and tablet devices.
    Capacity to take initiative and problem solve.
    High level interpersonal skills and experience working with research participants.
