IT and Communications Specialist, Location, Southgate, Johannesburg, Advertised By Agency, Job Type Full-Time, My client is based in the South of Johannesburg and is looking for an IT and Communications Specialist, LINUX is ESSENTIAL.

The duties are as follows: Desktop, Laptop & Printer Support – handling all queries, Ensuring that all software is up to date both operating system and anti –virus, Re installation and upgrade of computer's, Fully responsible for all backing-up of company computer data on desktops, laptops and servers, Maintaining a fully functional network, Maintaining a fully functional email system, Installing network points when needed, Installing hardware and software, Constant updating of a complete systems layout (including key processes and all passwords) for all computer systems, networks etc of all companies in the group (all details to be documented), Constant updating of file (and box if necessary) that contains a list of every computer’s configuration and software details and every software package’s license certificate (including every new package bought). Make a list of all software packages that do not have license certificates. Maintaining internal communication system, Assist in maintaining integration between fincon, Goldmine and the Mailing list, Assist in converting emailer to html and sending them out, IT Projects (listed below), Set - up E commerce between web and Fincon, Set- up backup / fall back server. Improving on the current internet & email System, Update email Signatures, Any other projects that arise from time to time, Basic Requirements: Ability to troubleshoot problems, Hands on experience and knowledge of Linux (very important), Windows desktop operating systems

Windows server 2003 – 2012, Networks, PBX Knowledge (Asterisk system), An understanding of databases, Knowledge of any Office Suite, Ability to use a graphics package
