Living in Dawson Creek, BC

Located in northeastern Peace Region of British Columba, Dawson Creek, a town of approximately 11, 000 people, is known as the “Capital of the Peace” City. Recreation facilities include two ice hockey arenas, a curling rink, an indoor swimming pool, an outdoor ice rink, and a speed skating oval. The city also has exhibition grounds featuring an indoor rodeo arena and a 4,000-seat convention centre/ice arena with skyboxes. Nearby Bear Mountain, located south of the city, provides over 20 km (12 mi) of snowshoeing and cross-country skiing trails, as well as areas for downhill skiing and about 500 km (300 mi) of trails for snowmobiles, mountain bikes, and all-terrain vehicles.                   

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-Time

Salary:  Approximately $35 per hour depending upon experience plus benefits package after 3 months including medical, dental, life insurance, and disability. Company paid pension of 3% after 6 months and 5 paid sick days per year. Cellphone and laptop provided as well as service truck for teams of 2 people. Clothing, tools, boots and safety equipment provided.

Location: Dawson Creek, BC

Shifts: Monday – Friday 7:00 – 3:45 plus lots of overtime availability. On call duties on a rotational basis (every 3rd week). Some daytime travel may be required.

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible, Number of Vacancies: 1, Experience: 2 – 5 years of Industrial electrical experience required. Pulp or power generation experience on rotating equipment an asset.

Education:  Journeyman Certification as Electrician

Skills and Abilities: must be physically fit, must be able to climb to heights of 200 feet, must be able to work in confined spaces, high mobility, willingness to travel, flexibility, openness and team work is required, autonomous and loves outside work, clean driver’s license is mandatory
