Skill Requirements:
Education: Completion of high school, Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training, Some university
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): WHMIS Certificate
Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years
Work Setting: Aviation/aerospace manufacturing, General manufacturing
Type of Machine Experience: Conventional, Computer Numerical Control (CNC)
Machining Tools and Machines: Automatic lathes, CNC machines, Drill presses, Engine lathes, Lapping machines, Milling machines, Sawing machines, Surface grinders, Tapping machines, Tool grinders
Measuring Tools: Micrometers, Callipers, Gauges
Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Specific Skills: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables, Program computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools, Verify dimensions of machined tools and parts using precision measuring instruments, Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments, Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances, Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports
Security and Safety: Driving record check (abstract)
Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Safety glasses/goggles
