Duration: Two year contract that can be extended and lead to Canadian permanent residence
Wages: $21.00 Cdn (minimum) but determined by experience and will increase if merited by performance
Our client, a modern millwork facility in the beautiful Rocky Mountain town of Canmore, Alberta, Canada is looking for experienced cabinetmakers particularly those with CNC operation experience.
Basic Qualifications:
Certification as a Cabinetmaker from your country of origin or country of residence
Minimum 5 years of experience as a  Cabinetmaker
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a CNC Operator.
Essential Requirements:
Must be comfortable with custom cabinet making.
Solid command of the English language (speaking, reading and writing).
Must be organized, efficient and accurate in performing the duties and responsibilities of this position.
Be proficient in the use of all basic production equipment, as well as knowledgeable in their maintenance.
Must have a good working knowledge of different solid wood types, plastic laminates, plywood, particleboard, veneering, and veneered particleboard/MDF.
Previous use of WinCAD or IMAWOP or other WOP system.
Previous 5 axis programing via Alpha CAM or Master CAM.
Be able to read cutting lists and drawings.
Be proficient in the use of hand tools, and be able to assemble pre-cut pieces into a finished product at the work bench.
Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
Must be able to take constructive criticism positively without ego.
Job Description:
Mainly takes raw goods and cuts them down to the required sizes and other machining in order for the pieces to be assembled by other Cabinetmakers and apprentices at the workbenches.
Operate all the large equipment e.g. CNC, Panel saws, Straight line rip saw, Undercut saw, 4 side planer, Shaper, Jointer, Thickness Planer, Edge bender, Edge sander, Band saw, Drum sander, Veneer press.
Cutting, & edging all types of sheet goods such but not limited to plywood, veneered sheets, plastic laminate, MCP, Particle board, MDF.
Veneer cutting, stitching and pressing.
Milling, and shaping of various hard and soft woods into numerous products.
To use cutting lists and drawings generated by the office to cut pieces to size with accuracy. Maintenance and cleaning of all equipment.
If requested by Shop Foreman, be willing and able to assemble pieces at the workbench, or any other jobs necessary to meet production deadlines.
The Machine Operator is under the General Supervision of the Shop Foreman.
