Duration: Two year contract that can be extended and lead to Canadian permanent residence
Wages: $27.00 -$30.00 Cdn hour/ depending on experience
Our client, a growing manufacturing and repair facility in Lloydminster, Alberta, Canada specializing in the protection of critical components typically used in heavy oil production, is looking for experienced Machinists. Successful candidates will be experienced with utilizing the latest technologies in the field of Thermal Spraying, working with such materials as tungsten carbide, chrome carbide, nickel, bronze and stainless steel among others to combat corrosion, high abrasive conditions, galling or a combination thereof.
Qualifications and Requirements
Machinist Trade Certification (in a country of origin or country of current residence)
minimum 8 years trade experience
speak, read and write in Englis
Along with above qualifications, the potential employee must possess the following:
STRONG manual lathe skills
manual mill skills
CNC lathe experience not required but encouraged
Cylindrical grinding experience not required but encouraged
Use of micrometers, callipers and other measuring equipment with ease
Ability to adapt to multiple setups per job is essential (example: set up and turn a part in the lathe, then set up same part in the mill to finish, finish grind in cylindrical grinder)
Problem solving ability (example: a repair part, understanding what is required to repair the part and following the repair thru to the end without supervision)
Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints, Set up and adjust production machinery, Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance, Verify dimensions of machined tools and parts using precision measuring instruments, Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments, Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances, Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports
