Head of IT PMO and Solution Development

Role:  Head of IT PMO and Solution Development

The successful candidate will lead a team of IT Project Managers, Business Analysts, and Developers that will manage the overall delivery of IT solutions to business users through a standardised methodology.

Responsibilities:

1.    Project Delivery & Co-ordination and Manage Project Budgets
2.    Establish and subsequently oversee IT PMO Governance covering the all aspects of IT Solution Delivery
3.    Build and operate a KPI driven PMO reporting dashboard covering key metrics across the full portfolio of IT projects
4.    Incorporate the Architecture Boards and the Business Relationship Manager interactions into the PMO project management methodology
5.    Establish and constantly improve processes that will cater for the comprehensive hand off of knowledge gained in project delivery to the Service Delivery teams
6.    Ensure project budgets are defined accurately in the early stages of the project lifecycle
7.    Responsible for delivering the annualised Value of Work to budget across the full IT project portfolio
8.    Build a capable team of project managers, business analysts and developers. Manage their ongoing performance against annual objectives
9.    Become certified in project management, promote certification with the team and renewal as required
10.  Management of Architect team including task managing and mentoring them to deliver key objectives

Experience:

1.  Advanced to expert level knowledge and understanding of IT PMO, Project Management and Solution Development processes and best practice
2.  Broad IT&T technical aptitude and knowledge
3.  Good understanding of best practice IT Project Management methodologies
4.  Proven experience of contract negotiation and supplier management; experience of successfully integrating business and operational requirements into supplier relationships
5.  A track record of delivering world class IT solutions within a large, complex commercial operation with exposure to a variety of systems, projects and users
6.  Has led step changes within IT functions making improvements in both productivity as well as customer satisfaction.
7.  Diligent and Data Driven decision maker
8.  Strong commercial and financial awareness, monitoring, co-ordination and budget ownership
9.  Relevant university degree and/or professional qualifications (e.g. PMI Certification)
