Experienced Claims Manager to perform in a fast paced high energy team environment, supporting the Program Team in the execution of one of the largest transit programs. The program is being delivered using both traditional and alternative forms of delivery models including Alternative Finance and Procurement (AFP).

Under limited supervision, using independent judgment, you will manage and mitigate claims and disputes across a range of projects varying in size from $5m to excess $1bn. The Claims will be tracked and managed in accordance with contractual requirements, best industry practice and the relevant process and procedures. Successful candidate will be fluent in contract administration systems (e.g. CM14) with a minimum of 15 years of progressive experience within major transit infrastructure projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Leads the claims management across a wide range of transit projects. Works with the Contract Administration team and accountable to the Program Commercial Manager. Serve as a subject matter expert in all aspects of claims management. Successfully coordinate the relationships between the Client management team, the Project team, internal legal counsel and the Project Controls functions including, estimating, planning/scheduling, cost control, and risk management. Provide input on claims mitigation techniques in other functional disciplines (scheduling practices, risk management, contract administration, etc.). Role Specific Tasks and Competencies. Proactively Manage and maintain comprehensive claims documentation within the contract administration software. Investigate, evaluate, and provide recommendations for the negotiated settlement of claims. Provide position papers to recommend solutions to contractual issues and claims settlement. Provide detailed evaluation of potential claim impact to the Project Management team. Provide summary reports to Executive Management. Liaison with client legal team. Understanding and experience of alternative dispute resolution techniques. Project Delivery Knowledge Familiar with contractor delivery methods and pros / cons of each Resources/Capabilities Highly responsive and ability to act quickly under changing circumstances Commercially astute with excellent negotiation skills Highly organized and ability to process and efficiently manage numerous claims

Effectively and positively influence Client and Stakeholder team members to comply with claims process as set out in the Project Agreement Ability to anticipate multiple claim paths and investigate client impacts, to keep ahead of the claimant Communication, Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills, Highly effective negotiation skills, Positive influencing skills, Able to maintain professional demeanor in challenging meetings.

The minimum qualifications for this position are: Experience Minimum of 15 years' experience of major project claims management with demonstrable successful resolution in favor of the Client, Comprehensive experience of the administration of major construction contracts, Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, project management, or related legal
