The Apollis Cottage, situated 17 kilometers outside of Springbok Namaqualand is seeking a part-time or full-time guest house manager.

Job description: The successful applicant will work as a front-office cottage manager at least three times a week, but the frequency could increase depending on how busy the cottage is.

Front office work will entail the following: supervising the operation of the cottage and staff, weekly reporting to owners on guest house operations, processing bookings and related administration, communication with guests via telephone and email, promptly answering inquiries from vendors and guests, inventory control and management, petty cash management and reconciliation, assisting with marketing the cottage locally, weekend work as needed

Applicants should be reliable, organized, and able to follow instructions thoroughly and work independently. Applicants should be good communicators and be resourceful when solving problems. Prior experience in the tourism industry and/or managing a guest house is preferred. Applicants who are currently in training in the tourism or hospitality industry will also be considered.

Further Requirements: Valid driver’s license, own reliable transport, live in the vicinity or have access to accommodation in the vicinity, foreign nationals should have a valid work permit.

Salary: Will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
