REGISTERED PSYCHOLOGIST
Christ the Teacher Catholic School Division No. 212 has 9 schools located in the communities of Yorkton, Melville and Theodore. The student population of approximately 1750  is served by a team of dedicated professionals and support staff.
THE POSITION
Reporting to the Coordinator of Student Achievement and Supports and Superintendent of Education, the Psychologist  will work in a team environment with other professional staff  to provide specialized support for students with intensive/exceptional needs. The successful candidate will consult and collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents and other personnel or agencies to design  and assist in the delivery of interventions that support student development.  The position commences August 26, 2014.
Applicants must possess a Master’s Degree in  Educational Psychology or equivalent  and be registered members of the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists, with an authorized practice endorsement.
Certification as a teacher would be an asset.  Individuals will be required to use their personal vehicle  for which reimbursement of travel expenses will be provided.
The successful candidate will be able to: Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills combined with the ability to work effectively in a team environment;
Implement and support the Response to Intervention Service Delivery Model;
Identify and assess the learning and developmental characteristics and needs of students, as well as environmental factors that affect learning and achievement;
Administer and interpret standardized  psychological assessments  and report assessment findings;
Provide strategies for classroom teachers to support their students;
Show a commitment to individual and organizational accountability; and
Provide workshops and in-services as needed.
