Avenza Systems Inc. requires Desktop and Mobile Developers for the next generation of its flagship cartographic GIS desktop and mobile applications, for full time positions.

You will be working with a small, informal and tightly integrated team of programmers on a wide variety of different development projects. Required Skills:
For desktop developers:
Significant professional experience developing software using C++
In depth understanding of core C++ concepts, including OOD, exceptions, memory management and smart pointers
Front end / GUI exposure
For mobile developers:
In depth understanding and proven professional experience using either C++ or Objective C
Professional experience developing mobile applications for at least one of these platforms: iOS, Android or Windows Phone
Java or C# is an asset
Also Mandatory For Everyone:
High standard of quality in coding practices (absolutely necessary!)
Ability to work proactively, both independently and as a team member
Keen personal interest in computer science and programming in general
Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent work experience
Any of the following is nice to have:
Working knowledge of Objective C and MacOS X development (major asset)
Raster / vector 2D graphics
GIS systems development experience and related libraries such as GDAL
OpenGL
Qt library
