Location, Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, Advertised By Agency, Job Type Full-Time, Transport Controller. My client from a heavy engineering concern is seeking Tranposrt Controller to join their team based in Port Elizabeth.

Purpose: To ensure that the Stores is able to function effectively thereby meeting the demands of both its customers and suppliers. Ensure that goods arrive safely and on time in the condition it was shipped.

Requirements: Tertiary qualification in Stores & Inventory Management, Warehouse Management or Logistics. Controlling Stores / Warehouse duties within heavy engineering environment. Minimum 5 years experience. Valid 3-ton forklift license

Responsibility Duties: Warehouse Outbound, Ensure that all goods leaving the warehouse have the correctly processed documentation, Ensure that all packaging and related materials are of an appropriate standard, Assist with the lading of goods and materials, Support all internal departments with issuing of stock / non-stock items, WIP job cage material consignment stock, Report any queries to management before goods leave the warehouse.

Transportation: Ensure that packaging & crating adhered to specified requirements by relevant departments, Maintain a professional relationship with transport companies, Analyst costs and loads in order to achieve the most economic method of delivery, Ensure that the company abides to laws / regulations surrounding transportation, Strong emphasis on meeting on-time delivery, Obtain quotes for national transportation via approved vendors, Facilitate the loading & off loading of stock / equipment with internal logistics to meet transportation requirements, Supplier maintenance, ratings and audits, Ensure that all documentation related to transportation is accurate and completed as per procedure, Complete visual inspection reports for all items leaving, Ensure transportation photographic records are maintained as per procedure, Ensure that items leaving the premises adhere to QA standards, Attend planning meetings and record updates.
