Credit Assessor (full time, maximum term contract). RAC Finance specializes in the delivery of a range of quality finance products ranging from property finance development, investment notes and a tailored personal loans product specialising in a competitive motor vehicle finance product.

The opportunity to join our Consumer New Business team will provide the successful candidate the chance to be part of a motivated, busy team and thrive in a fast-paced working environment.  The Credit Assessor position (known internally as New Business Consultant) is a key role responsible for processing and analysing loan applications and establishing positive relationships with members.  This is a maximum term position to 28 June 2019.

Key responsibilities: Processing loan applications & assessing against credit policy. Making responsible lending decisions within delegated authority analysing all data to ensure an acceptable level of risk, complying with the National Credit Code and RAC Credit Policy. Completing Equifax and Landgate property checks & other credit reference checks in accordance with Privacy Act. Promoting credit protection insurance to customers to achieve sales targets. Completing follow up calls to pre-approved clients to progress loan applications to settlement.

What we are looking for in you: Demonstrated experience in consumer lending. Good understanding of National Credit Code, responsible lending obligations and Privacy Act. Ability to apply the relevant lending legislation and Credit Policy. Demonstrated understanding of loan documentation requirements

Excellent customer service skills, strong sales & decision-making skills. Strong telephone and written communication skills. Well organised and able to prioritise work effectively. Effective time management skills and ability to work under pressure. Demonstrated problem solving ability. Ability to operate effectively in a Values/Behaviour based organisation and role model behaviours. Ability to work flexible rostered hours Monday to Friday.
