Moving Van Driver
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Part Time leading Full Time, On Call, Overtime, Weekend, Day, Evening
Salary: $11.00 to $14.00 Hourly for 40 hours per week
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: Truro, Nova Scotia (1 vacancy)
Skill Requirements:
Education: Some high school
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Driver's Licence (Class 3 or D), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
Experience: Experience an asset
Type of Trucking and Equipment: Straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles)
Type of Travel: Short-haul, Long-haul, Local, Regional, Provincial/territorial
Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)
Communication Equipment Experience: Cellular phone
Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
Specific Skills: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, Loading and unloading of goods, Use atlases and other trip planning aids, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
Additional Skills: Professionalism in customer service, Handle inquiries from customers
Security and Safety: Bondable, Driving record check (abstract)
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding
Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, Valid driver's licence
