General Manager – Paarl, Location, Paarl, Cape Winelands, Advertised By Agency, Job Type Full-Time. Meat processing plant seeks a GM who has good operational experience and can manage 600 staff. Oversee all departments and ensure operations are functioning at the optimum level. Manage all managers in the various departments and report all HR, operations issues, compliance issues and related issues to the CEO.

Production and Packaging: Implementing, Reviewing & Maintaining the food safety system and standards in the factory. Ensuring that the food safety guidelines/standards are adhered too at all times. Ensuring that we obtain a pass on all health & safety audits conducted. Ensuring effective product quality control. Ensuring effective product packaging control. Ensuring effective protective clothing control. Production of a good quality product thereby ensuring effective product quality control. Ensuring that the production levels are achieved and maintained at all times. Minimum levels are to be set and adhered to Ensuring that Recipes are followed, and waste control is limited Conduct physical stock counts and compare to quantity on hand, any variances need to be investigated. Ensuring that quantities of stock are produced as and when required and monitoring of stock levels for all items of stock.

To ensure that orders received from the admin department is accurately made up and quantities loaded onto the truck agrees to the quantities per the respective invoice. You are responsible for the accurate loading of the stock onto the trucks. Once a truck is loaded, a route sheet is required to be completed and a copy submitted to the administration department. The truck should then be sealed. When the truck arrives back from the route, any cash collections are removed immediately from the trucks and handed too or placed in a sealed bag in the administration department. To ensure that the containers are kept in a clean and hygienic condition and that there are no damaged or expired stock items in the container. To check the temperature of the containers and too ensure that a manager is present when the container is unlocked. Prompt collection of stock at the cold store. You are required to liaise with the cold store timeously and ensure that the necessary documentation is completed. Compile a list of stock issued to the factory. A weekly stock report needs to be completed and an updated stock list is to be maintained at all times. To ensure that vehicles are inspected on a daily basis. A detailed vehicle check list needs to be completed and any defects are to be resolved and reported on to senior management. Ensure that external transport is arranged when required. Ensuring effective product packaging control. Ensuring effective protective clothing control. Sound knowledge of Pastel Evolution and Excel. Ensure compliance with Food Safety Standards, Hygiene, Occupational Health & Safety, Waste Management, Department of Agriculture.
