Memberships Officer, Navy Canteens, ACT. Navy Canteens is a not-for-profit corporate Commonwealth entity and operates food and beverage operations at Naval establishments across Australia. Navy Canteens also operates three holiday parks, an online merchandise store, fortnightly member raffle and an entertainment ticketing service. Funds generated from these activities provide benefits to serving Navy members though the distribution of grants and loans to benefit the Navy community.

We are currently looking for a professional Memberships Officer to join our Marketing team based at Campbell Park Offices in Canberra. Reporting to the Operations Marketing Manager, this role will take a proactive role in the delivery of benefits to Navy personnel.

The Memberships Officer will perform a range of routine and non-routine tasks including (but not limited to) the following: Assisting with the implementation of strategies to deliver and grow benefits provided to members of the Royal Australian Navy. Marketing support in relation to the delivery and promotion of the Navy Canteens ticketing service, online merchandise and member raffle to members and wider Navy personnel. Content creation including but not limited to eNewsletters, print material and social media.

Maintaining websites and databases: Generating reports as require, and monitoring group mailboxes to respond to customer needs. Liaising with external service providers and working with managers across Australia. Administrative support and project work as/when required.

Essential attributes: Tertiary qualification in Marketing/Communications or a similar field preferred but not mandatory. Experience in a customer service / marketing role with a particular focus on growing services/benefits and on online engagement. Background in media platforms including the management of Apps would be advantageous. Experience managing membership databases and loyalty programs. Computer savvy with proficient skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint). Proficient skills in the Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop) would be advantageous.

Selection criteria: Strong organisation skills, including the ability to prioritise work and work well under pressure. A flexible and pro-active attitude and demonstrated initiative in achieving assigned goals as the role grows with the business. Exceptional communication skills both written and oral. The ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels. Ability to multi-task, works independently or in a team, and work effectively in varying environments. Due to security requirements the successful applicant will need to be an Australian Citizen and be able to obtain a Defence Baseline Security Clearance.
