Dump Truck Driver
Terms of Employment: Seasonal, Full Time, On Call, Day, Evening
Salary: $17.00 Hourly for 40 hours per week
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: Winnipeg and Area, Manitoba (3 vacancies )
Skill Requirements:
Education: Some high school, Completion of high school
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Driver's Licence (Class 3 or D), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, Air Brake Adjustment Certificate
Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years
Type of Trucking and Equipment: Straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles), Dump
Type of Travel: Local, Provincial/territorial
Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)
Communication Equipment Experience: Cellular phone
Weight Handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
Specific Skills: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, Loading and unloading of goods, Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo, Plan travel schedules and routes, Use atlases and other trip planning aids, Receive and relay information to central dispatcher, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness, Perform emergency roadside repairs
Additional Skills: Professionalism in customer service
Security and Safety: Driving record check (abstract)
Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat
Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, Own vehicle, Valid driver's licence
