Scientist – Cytology, Mater Hospital, Brisbane QLD. About the role: Mater Pathology has opportunities available for an experienced Scientist to join the Cytology team on a casual basis. With over 100 years of experience, Mater Pathology is Queensland's leading not-for-profit pathology provider, at the forefront of innovation providing a broad spectrum of unique pathology expertise through its highly skilled cohesive team of pathologists and scientific, technical and administration staff.

Salary range: $33.32-$48.85 (Health Practitioner Level 3) per hour plus superannuation (plus casual loading), What you’ll be doing. As a scientist in this role you will perform routine duties at a level commensurate with experience in all areas of Anatomic Pathology and Cytology in accordance with standard operating procedures.

About you To be successful in this role you will have: Medical Laboratory Science degree (or equivalent) Certificate of Competency with the Australian Society of Cytology (CTASC) to sign out clinical reports as required. Experience in reporting all non-gynaecological specimens types. Previous experience in attendance of rapid on-site evaluation (ROSE) procedures. Proficient in communication and assistance with external enquiries. Well-developed ability to apply established principles to routine duties: Prior experience and knowledge in Anatomic Pathology and Cytology. Ability to manage work priorities to effectively meet critical clinical requirements.
