The Community Engagement Officer supports the leadership team to deliver highly complex outcomes, projects and work programs that have strategic, political and operational significance to our client. You will also provide support to to implement operational strategies aimed at achieving the clients mission to build a world-leading Scheme This position may include intrastate and interstate travel.

You will; Contribute to the strategic direction and work as a high performing team to effectively engage with people with disability, their families and carers using a nationally consistent engagement approach across a diverse geographic environment. Supporting to operationalise a targeted engagement strategy which is aligned to the business plans.

Proactively delivering engagement activities and projects against this strategy by applying your communications and engagement experience. Delivering clear, concise and effective messaging to people with a disability, thier families and carers as well as other community and mainstream stakeholders. Taking ownership in managing the state/territory engagement inbox, acting as a pont of escalation for the triaging of enquiries and request. Maintaining cohesive relationships with relevant internal stakeholders.

Essential knowledge, experience and skills; Experience with supporting people with a disability to maximise participation in community. Competency, or ability to develop competency, in consistently applying assessment tools to identify support needs. Competency with IT systemse. Strong adaptable communication and interpersonal skills. Judgement and decision making within delegated limits in relation to accountability of funds and interactions with individuals and communities. Ability to respond to and prioritise competing and often urgent requests in a calm and efficient manner while also maintaining high work standards and accuracy.
