Veterinary Technician
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, On Call, Weekend, Day
Salary: $15.00 to $19.00 Hourly for 35 hours per week, Bonus, Piece Work, Gratuities, Commission, Other Benefits, Medical Benefits, Dental Benefits, Life Insurance Benefits, Group Insurance Benefits, Vision Care Benefits

Skill Requirements:
Education: Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Registered animal technician, Not required
Experience: Experience an asset
Work Setting: Veterinary clinic
Area of Specialization: Small animals
Specific Skills: Handle, restrain and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery, Assist veterinarian before, during and after surgery, Prepare and administer medications and vaccines under direction of veterinarian, Administer treatments as prescribed by veterinarian, Counsel clients on animal health care, Produce diagnostic radiographs, collect samples and perform other laboratory tests
Security and Safety: Criminal record check
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail, Bending, crouching, kneeling
Essential Skills: Communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Job task planning and organizing
Other Information:Some reception, shared emergency on-call. 1 year contract, with option to extend. Paid air ticket or $600 towards moving expenses, upon arrival. Veterinary technician diploma is a must.
