About the Leisure & Recreation Services Department: This department is part of our Community Life Division, and aims to help people thrive and connect through active and healthy lifestyle. This department provides a great range of indoor and outdoor leisure and aquatic centres, golf courses, stadiums, and halls for the community.

About the Role: This position contributes to the efficient and effective delivery of the range of administration services and events hosted at the Geelong Arena. This may include responsibility for: administration, catering, box office sales and customer service functions, thus supporting the management team in the development of the Arena into an innovative community recreational facility whilst operating on a commercial basis.

Some of the key responsibilities in this role will include. Promoting and implementing council’s policy of Excellence in Customer Service by providing a friendly and efficient receptionist service to customers and guests to the Geelong Arena. Efficiently completing administrative and reception functions. Developing and maintaining sound administration systems and procedures and providing support to Arena staff. Resolving information technology issues in consultation with IT service providers. Assisting the Venue Manager in the provision of venue marketing.

Developing and maintaining client databases and statistical records for events and services available through the Venue. Providing assistance to the Venue Manager in the efficient and effective conduct of the day to day administration operations of the venue. Coordinating ticketing services and box office operations for events.

About You: To be successful in this role, you will require. Demonstrated experience in administration functions including financial reporting, facility bookings, point of sale and stock management. Extensive cash handling experience. Well-developed IT and computer skills (MS office) including word processing and spreadsheet software. Efficient and effective planning and use of own time to achieve specific and set objectives with the resources available and within set time frames.

Demonstrated experience with event ticketing, hirer liaison and marketing. Current employee Working with Children check.
