Warehouse Manager, Location: Berea & Musgrave, Durban City, Job Type: Full-Time. NB: Advertisement on-behalf of a client! My client is one of the SA’s largest wholesalers in their field offering a product range through exceptional customer service and efficient delivery.

The role: You will play a pivotal role which will encompass complete management of the Warehouse function to include transport & drivers and overall people management. This role will provide first line management to an established and experienced warehouse/distribution team, and will be accountable to the General Manager.

This will be a hands-on and challenging role, yet rewarding for the successful candidate, who will receive on-going support from the depot General Manager: The Warehouse Manager will be expected to spend the majority of their time in the warehouse. This is a full time position.

Key Accountabilities of the role are: Management of Goods In and Good Out plus Drivers. Continuously improve operational efficiencies and workflow. Plan out all warehouse resources and activities in keeping with the team focus and objectives. Review and implementation of cost reduction methods. Completion of daily work logs to develop and support efficiency reports. To provide analysis and reporting on inventory, manpower, logistics, consumables, variable cost, budget v actual, issue logs and resolutions. To be responsible for Health and Safety Implementation and on-going responsibility. To ensure adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures within the Warehouse (SOP’s).

The successful candidate: Will have experience of managing a warehouse function, or be of supervisory level with experience of deputising in the Managers absence. We would like to speak with candidates who have previous and relevant experience for this role, along with strong people management experience as well as fleet/transport management experience. This is a hands-on role that requires the Warehouse Manager to lead by example and demonstrate a work ethic that puts the customer first at all times.
