Location: Somerset West, Helderberg, Job Type: Full-Time. An established Tour Operator, based in Somerset West, is looking for a passionate and vibrant Reservations Consultant to join our team.

The right applicant will achieve and maintain a comprehensive administrative framework for our sales & reservations  department. This is an administrative role, with a plan that will expand the company’s customer base, maintain our high service standards and ensure our continued growth in the tourism sector. The applicant must have a great energy, a genuine passion for people and South Africa, as they will assist the sales & marketing team in promoting our country as an ideal international travel destination. This role requires a high level of interpersonal skills, excellent communication, high work ethic and attention to detail. 

Key Job Duties & Responsibilities: Responsible for assisting customers with advising and purchasing travel arrangements, events or accommodations. Build and maintain efficient and professional relationships with all existing agents, new agents and new staff at existing agents. Assist, on a rotational basis, with after-hours operational phone and e-mail enquiries. Ensure the best possible reception duties including telephone manners and email etiquette when dealing with clients and agents. Assist in marketing related activities. Reports to the Reservations Manager.

Job Requirements: Grade 12, Driver’s license. 2-3 years industry experience (preferably as a travel agent) OR a recent tourism graduate. Computer Literate: MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Internet. Strong interpersonal skills, tenacity, drive and positivity. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a result driven, team-oriented environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Strong detail orientation and ability to plan, organize and prioritize.
