Location: Gugulethu, Cape Flats, Job Type: Full-Time. Required Qualifications / Experience. Min 1+ years manufacturing experience (Blown Film extrusion experience are Required with contactable reference). Good mechanical/troubleshooting skills. Able to work with minimal supervision. Good organizational skills. Ability to work well with others. Commitment to achievement of continuous improvement of Organisational and personal goals.

Willing to work overtime as needed. Able to stand for up to 12 hours, while working with and around machinery (loud environment). Able to work in high/low temperature/ humidity environment. Able to work rotating shifts.

Other Tasks: Perform other tasks as directed by the BRCGS quality management system Implemented. Communicate and work effectively and positively with all co-workers. Responsible for shift hand overs and line clearance. Ensure the Production plant stays Clear form any Contaminants. Ensure All Documentation are signed off and completed and assist with Document control. Safely operate blown extrusion lines producing polyethylene film at accepted quality and productivity standards and specifications. Set-up, troubleshoot and perform proper adjustments to the blown film extrusion lines to maintain safety, quality and productivity standards.                              

Give assistance to co-workers on other lines to reduce reclaim and downtime. Monitor in process extrusion and Quality of Production. To help and assist when NCR are opened for corrective action to resolve issues. To ensure effective start-up of production machinery happens timeously. To make running adjustments to production machinery. To record/report running repairs on machinery in the job request book. To perform line clearance and product changes. To drive (follow up) all breakdowns, minimizing downtime.

To ensure that scrap production is minimized & effectively reprocessed (Material Management). To ensure that production efficiencies are maximized. Ensure safety and cleanliness of the entire work place. Maintain clean, safe work area, by being efficient, neat and organized (5S). Sort /Set in Order/ Shine /Standardize/Sustain close out Non Conformance Reports twhen necessary

To carry out necessary corrective action for NCR on shift. To ensure compliance with our BRC quality system, maintain Quality standards and procedures. Monitor on-line Critical Control Points (CCP) as per BRC QMS plan To maintain and control tools and equipment. comply with factory rules and carrying out disciplinary action where necessary. Maintain a safe working environment for Production staff. Conduct Best Practice Training Sessions. Reduce overtime required (weekends). Be on time for a 15-minute overlap to allow for a shift hand-over. And stay to sort out Issues regarding production problems.

Able to stand for up to 8 hours, while working with and around machinery. Ability to work in a plastics extrusion plant environment for extended periods of time (able to work in high/low temperature/ humidity environment). Able to work weekends and public holidays.
