Quality Technician required for a Manufacturing Company (Experience in the Automotive industry) Quality Technician required for a Manufacturing Company in Hammanskraal, Pretoria: Preferably candidates from Pretoria, Hammanskraal etc. Experience in the Automotive Industry.

Job Purpose: To execute and oversee, all Quality Technician work emanating from the Factory, Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities. To ensure that the product and services meet customer requirements (Internal and External) at each stage of its manufacturing process, carrying out relevant testing and where necessary take corrective action to rectify non-conformance issues.

To further ensure all Division and Service Providers comply with current ISO 9001:2015 QMS. Report quality issues data, ensuring the quality management system is adhered to at all stages. Lastly, to Promote the implementation and maintenance of the ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System (EMS) Standard.

Principal Accountabilities: Carry out product test and thorough independent final inspection of finished products to defined procedures, formally reporting all defects. Responsible for checking, progressing and collating accurate extrusion and inspection records. Provide technical support in the areas of machine 1st –off inspection, Returned Goods Inspection, and Production line Quality support activities. Inspect and auditing of all product components and all stages of the manufacturing process. Investigate any quality issues to indentify root cause and raised appropriate corrective action paperwork and ensure issues are addressed and resolved

Ensure compliance and assist with the adherence to the Quality Management System (ISO9001:2015). Attend and report at regular improvement meetings, providing secure preventative actions to external and internal quality related concerns. Ensure all products flow through the inspection process. Ensure all incident of non-conformance are recorded and timely resolved. Maintain the calibration system and ensure all equipment is correctly calibrated and registered.

Assist the SHERQ Manager with New Product Introduction. Managed manufacturing master drawing, 1st –off and Last Off Samples under register to ensure build standards is control and maintained. Produce Weekly management feedback reports on performance in areas of responsibility. Carry out internal audits as per audit schedule on (Processes and Systems). Undertake special projects as required. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Support and participate in process improvement initiatives. Write simple factual reports and provide information to management. Achieved Goals within timeline. Be aware and work to achieve the Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s). Major Challenges. Identifying the quality non-conformances accurately. Dealing with the quality non-conformance effectively. Managing and monitoring the quality non-conformances timeously. Agility and Adaptability regarding new standards and customer specific requirements. The application and implementation of the IATF 16949: 2016Automotive Standard.

Experience: At least 4 years’ experience in Automotive Industry is essential. At least 1 –year experience in Internal Auditing in a manufacturing organization. Awareness of Learn Manufacturing and activities.

Must have advance knowledge of: Quality Control, Quality Assurance  and Quality Management. Quality Management Systems (ISO, VDA6 & IATF 16949).

Must have sound knowledge of: Occupational Health and Safety Act. Risk Assessment or SHE. Measuring Equipment use in a Manufacturing environment and they usage. Non-conformances Reporting Process. Ability to work as member of an interdisciplinary team. Attention to details and ability to work accurately and well under pressure. Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP). Production Part Approval Process (PPAP). Failure Mode and Effective Analysis (FMEA). Lean Manufacturing knowledge. Understanding manufacturing processes. Planning and prioritising daily activities.

Good communication and interpersonal skills. Problem-solving skills. In-depth understanding of Health and Safety practices. Analytical skills. Ability to work on own initiative.

Education Minimum requirements: A City Guilds, SHEQ or TQM Certificate Qualification in Quality Assurance or Total Quality Management. A Quality Technician Certificate will be advantageous. Commitment to register as Internal Auditor at a Reputable Training Institute e.g. SAATCA, IRCA will be considered. Own transport with a valid Driver’s Licence.
