Lodge Host/Hostess, Kirkwood, Eastern Cape. Live in position, Kirkwood, Eastern Cape. Salary offered 8 000 CTC. Only those applicants who meet the below criteria will be contacted.

Educational Requirements: Matric or equivalent. Post graduate qualification advantageous. Catering, cooking or chefs qualification advantageous. Valid Driver's license essential.

Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a hospitality environment and preparation of meals for up to 12 people in one sitting. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a management role. Experience with hospitality related computer systems. Experience with the OHS Act. Experience with the hospitality industry standards and procedures.

Skills & Attributes: Catering and preparation of meals. Food and Beverage management. Menu Planning, buying and stock control. Excellent communication and people skills. Self-development orientation. Cultural sensitivity. Empathetic. Service orientation.

Guest Services: Prepare and serve all meals, snacks and beverages. Manage and ensure proper maintenance of lodging facilities to the required standards and inspect lodge for cleanliness & appearance. Communicate and entertain guests as and when required. Work flexi hours as and when required. Deal with guests complaints promptly and ensure customer satisfaction. Ensure food and beverage preparation and service is consistently maintained to high standards.

Carry out daily stock control and food quality checks. Order and purchase food and beverage supplies and ensure cost effective buying and correct stock levels at all times. Plan menus and present all food and beverages in a professional manner.

Sales & Marketing: Respond to all enquiries by potential clients and OTA’s (online Travel / Hunting Agents), within 12 hours. Liaise and network with other Hunting Safari lodge operations to ensure you are up to date with what is happening in the industry. Complete Monthly reports ensuring the following are included: compliments and complaints received, upcoming events, SWOT and assessment of the month. Arrange AA and Tourism grading council inspections in liaison with the Group Sales and Marketing Manager.

Finance & Administration: Ensure efficient operation and cost control of all the lodge’s services and facilities, process advance payments/deposits, send out e-mails or letters of confirmation, collect payments and record data pertaining to income and expenditure. Complete all invoicing, ensure month-end slips and reports are sent to head office timeously and do any other general administrative duties are required by management Purchase supplies, food and beverages and arrange for outside services such as deliveries, laundry, maintenance and repair and rubbish collection, etc.
