Transport Driver (Local Delivery Drivers)

Skill Requirements:
Education: Some high school, Completion of high school
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Driver's Licence (Class 1 or A), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate
Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years
Type of Trucking and Equipment: Tractor-trailer, Van
Type of Travel: Short-haul, Local
Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Trans-border documentation, Maintenance and repair reports, Trip reports, Accident or incident reports, Dangerous goods occurrence reports
Communication Equipment Experience: Citizens band (CB) radio, Satellite tracking (GPS) equipment
Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Specific Skills: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, Loading and unloading of goods, Receive and relay information to central dispatcher, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
Additional Skills: Professionalism in customer service
Security and Safety: Bondable, Basic security clearance, Criminal record check, Driving record check (abstract), Medical exam, Drug test
Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver's licence
