Shipping Coordinator, Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape. Salary: R18 600 to R23 500 per month commensurate with experience and qualification + medical aid, provident fund and 13th cheque
Qualifications / Requirements: Matric, B.Com Degree in Business Management, Minimum of 5 years experience working in a customer focused business, within the shipping industry. Minimum of 5 years experience in general administration office, within the shipping industry. Working knowledge of SA Customs Law with regards to exports.
Computer literate at intermediate level – MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook. Understanding of basic accounting processes (quotations, invoicing and foreign currency exchange). Good interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills. Self-motivated and have the ability to work independently and with high levels of accuracy. Willing to move between 2 factory sites. Prepared to undergo an assessment.
Key Performance Areas: Responsible for the transportation and delivery of tank containers in accordance with contractual requirements. Responsible for communicating with customers to facilitate delivery and ensuring customers remain informed of tank container availability and delivery status. Responsible for communicating with shipping lines, haulage companies, depots and customers agents regarding transport and delivery of tank containers. Monitoring the storing and loading of tank containers in the remote storage yard. Monitoring the aging of completed tanks in relation to VAT regulations and engaging with clients prior to export deadline to facilitate correct exportation. Monitor global and local wine production and exportation for the purposes of supporting shipment of ex-works ISO tank containers with product.
Responsible for administration aspects of shipping tan containers. Assist customers in logistical matters that are non-contractual. Any other reasonable activity requested by Manager.
