My client creates, designs, engineers and develops unique hardware and software solutions across various industries from retail to FMCG that help businesses solve specific problems, allowing for competitive advantage while offering valuable insights.

The Instructional Designer is responsible for identifying the performance, skills, knowledge, information and attitude gaps of a targeted audience and create, select and/or suggest learning experiences to fill this gap.

Salary is market related and based on experience. Office located in the Northern Suburbs area of Cape Town. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Please only apply if you fully qualify as per requirements listed below.

Requirements: Grade 12 or equivalent certificate essential Relevant qualification in instructional design highly advantageous Minimum 3 years experience in instructional design In-depth knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models Lesson and curriculum planning skills 

Basic HTML and Flash programming knowledge advantageous. Visual design skills (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator). Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio and video scripts. Competencies: Strong communication skills (verbal and written). Outstanding presentation skills. Meticulous with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Extremely organised and solutions-focused. Ability to work alone and self-motivate as well as adhere to a team structure. Ability to effectively multitask in a high-pressure environment. Eager to consistently learn, upskill and expand knowledge within field of expertise.

Responsibility: Conduct a needs analysis to determine requirements of the client or target audience. Collaborate with SME’s to understand the needs of the target audience. Generate learning outcomes: Develop a course outline and storyboard that will assist with meeting the learning outcomes. Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content 

Assisting copy writers with script writing as and when required. Create effective assessments to ensure the learning outcomes are met. Collaborate with team to ensure projects are delivered on time. Commit to sprint goals and communicate roadblocks. Attend client meetings, as and when necessary, to discuss needs and ideas.
