FTTH Fibre Optic Technician, Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, Job available in Port Elizabeth. FTTH Fibre Optic technician - responsible to prep and splice fiber optic cables and read splicing diagrams. Test Fibre and providing notes complete with pictures, formal loss results, and redlined documentation.

Duties and Responsibilities: Perform work in accordance with industry standards. Read and follow splice diagrams instructions and specifications, maintain the scope of work and adhere to safety procedures. Fusion splicing fiber optic cables.

Preparing and splicing of all types of Splitters and splice drawers.
Installation of enclosures, joints and splitter on all types and sizes. Perform power meter testing, and capture loss to ensure splicing loss budget is adhered to. Provide accurate test result documentation as well as as-built documentation.

Qualifications and Requirements: Minimum 3 years' experience working as fibre splicing technician. Fibre skill certification from accredited fibre optic institutions. Experience with Multi Dwelling units (MDU) & Single Dwelling Units (SDU) builds – FTTH. Ability to detect errors, determine causes, and make corrections as appropriate. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.

Need to be excellent with paperwork - filling in Job Cards and stock sheets. Individuals must have a valid driver's license. Must be in good physical condition. May be required to work overtime.
