Junior Buyer / Accounts person required, Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape. Company in the Shipping Industry requires a Buyer. (We are an essential services company).

The person that we are looking for must be: A team player. Able to work in an open area office with 3 other buyers. Well organised. Knowledge of Port Elizabeth and its suppliers. Good with numbers/maths (adding on mark-ups and converting from ZAR to US dollars). MICROSOFT EXCEL – Knowledge of this programme is a must.

Duties are as follows: Correct preparation of accounts for payment. (Creditors). Handling of multiple quotations at the same time. Arranging items once orders are placed. Helping check in stock that suppliers deliver to our warehouse.

Dealing with suppliers over the telephone. Calling around to find the best prices possible for quotations (especially important). Using Microsoft Excel to produce invoices.

Dealing with warehouse staff and following up on orders. Following up and outstanding credit notes / statements and all other issues with accounts. Dealing with suppliers for incorrect or inferior quality deliveries. Salary R6500.00 per month.
