Electrical/ Mechanical Engineer Plant Hire Industry – Johannesburg Requirements: NQF 4 (Grade 12) qualification + Electrical Trade test (Red Seal) with Fitting Knowledge/ BEng/BSc Mechanical Engineering. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a construction/ plant hire, Manufacturing, mining industry.

Working knowledge in hydraulics and pneumatics, Electrical and Mechanical repairs, general Engineering and machining. Knowledge of different machine types, e.g. compressors, generators, compaction equipment. Excellent Fault - finding skills. Basic Health & Safety knowledge OHS Act. Effective time management skills. Good working knowledge of electrical equipment. Ability to build and repair electrical circuits. Good communication skills. Customer service and client liaison abilities.

Basic computer skills. Must have Air Driers knowledge (Desiccant Driers). Experience in working with Transformers. Experience on Electrical Installation and Maintenance. Activities (Synchronizing of Generators). Wireman’s License is an advantage. Experience in small and bigger projects.

Responsibility: Performing routine and planned machine maintenance. Identifying and responding to safety hazards. Selecting, using, and maintaining various tools. Performing breakdown maintenance operations. Compiling and maintaining records of machine history. Ensuring that electrical equipment and machinery, repair schedules are met according to the scheduled time allocated. Immediate diagnosis of the breakdown problem and identify a solution to the problem (Pre-requisite).

Ensuring that all mechanical, electrical, electronic. All maintenance and repairs are to be in line with the company standards. Assist with any breakdown that arises on site. Knowledge in quality management.
