Permanent Distribution Supervisor, Other, Northern Suburbs. Distribution Supervisor. Well-known brand within the FMCG industry is seeking to appoint a suitably experienced Distribution Supervisor to be based in the Epping Industria area.

Requirements: Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate. 3 – 5 years’ experience in a similar position. Experience within the FMCG sector will be beneficial. Excellent communication skills. Valid Driver’s License with own reliable transport.

Responsibilities: Be part of the Food Safety Team. Supervise distribution staff. Work hand in hand with production supervisor to control stock on hand and freezer packing. Operate Hyster for loading and off-loading. Set distribution goals and plan and manage distribution operations to achieve the set goals.

Identify resources, perform workload assignments, and help when required. Conduct training to team members as needed. Monitor team performance and provide feedback for improvement. Oversee daily routes and improve route plans to ensure timely deliveries. Follow and enforce company policies and procedures.

Address customer queries and ensure customer satisfaction. Manage distribution expenses within the budget. Work with transportation staff to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. Ensure that company vehicles are maintained in good working conditions. Develop cost reduction initiatives while maintaining productivity and quality. Plan and schedule deliveries to meet customer needs.

Assist in inventory management activities including receiving, storing, rotating, and handling supplies in distribution. Use IT system to manage stock levels, delivery times and transport costs. Manage stock take. Attend monthly food safety meetings.
