Procurement Officer - Manufacturing - Cape Town - R40 000/50 000 PM CTC, Other, Southern Suburbs. Position Overview To be responsible for the planning and procurement of inventory to meet current and future demand through the preparation and development of systems and

forecasting and the improvement of procurement through good buying practices and the management of the supplier relationship.

Essential Job Functions: Monitor and improve the running of the MRP and the procurement of materials. Forecasting and monitoring of required stock levels and supply patterns with strong involvement with top management. Responsible for planning, developing and buying materials. Maintain inventory levels in line with stock policy holding.

Monitor buying and delivery variances in price and quantities. Manage and control  defective/obsolete /redundant / surplus material. Liaise with accounts payable and internal customers. Liaise with suppliers on quality and performance of products. Prepare purchase requisitions, create and execute purchase orders of materials and services.

Liaise with suppliers on availability of stock and future supply. Prepare reports and updates as and when required. Knowledge.

The incumbent must be proficient with good knowledge in the following areas: Material Planning and Procurement Imports. Maintain a high level of accuracy in reviewing, preparing and entering financial information. Maintain confidentiality concerning financial matters. Minimum 10 years’ experience in material planning and buying in a manufacturing environment.

Skills: The incumbent must demonstrate a high level of skill for: Customer and Service relations, Forecasting, Decision Making, Planning and organizing, Meeting targets and deadlines, Stress management, Negotiations and networking internally and externally. Good judgment and analytical ability.

Accuracy and attention to detail: Leadership and team work, Problem-Solving. Commercial awareness of business drivers, including being forward looking while learning from the past. Experience in Syspro or similar ERP system. This position is open to SA citizens only.
