Mechanical Technician, East London, Eastern Cape.

Mechanical Technician / East London Our Client within the Petrochemical Industry is seeking to employ a Qualified Mechanical Technician. Previous experience within this Industry will be advantageous.

Minimum Requirements: Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering required. Minimum of 3 years' professional experience in Mechanical/Electrical maintenance within a production/manufacturing environment. Strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills.

Job stability OBJECTIVES: Execution of mechanical repairs to all mechanical equipment in order to secure continuity of production. Assembling, installation, testing and maintaining equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures. Fault finding to all malfunctioning systems, apparatus and components, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Inspecting equipment and components to identify defects and the need for adjustment and/or repair to ensure continuous safe operation. Testing all systems and continuity of equipment and fixtures to ensure compatibility to safety.

Maintaining machinery and equipment in the plant and keeping them in a good technical condition. Recommending on equipment and solutions that shall be used in the ISP. Ensuring safety standards. Identifying and maximising opportunities to make cost savings, including utilities usage. Controlling technical conditions of the equipment and supervising if its execution is in line with technical documentation.

Executing preventive activities for machinery and equipment. Contacting vendors to provide maintenance services. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation.

Salary: Negotiable (depending on experience)
