Theatre for a New Audience is an award-winning Off Broadway LORT-D company dedicated to the development and vitalization of the performance and study of Shakespeare and classical theatre. Founded in 1979 by Jeffrey Horowitz, the theatre produces and presents 3-5 plays each season, in addition to an annual gala. This season will be Theatre for a New Audience’s first in its new home in the Downtown Brooklyn Cultural District.
We are seeking a qualified, personable, and highly organized individual to fill the role of Associate General Manager. This is a full time position which reports directly to the General Manager. Start Date: November 2013. Hours: 10am until 6pm, Monday through Friday, plus additional hours including nights and weekends as needed. Compensation: Commensurate with experience.
Duties include the following.
Act as Company Manager: Primary company liaison – serve all artist needs, Consult on union regulations, Arrange housing, transportation, Acquire visa’s for international artists, Submit and distribute payroll and union reports, Negotiate with creative team agents, Draw up and distribute contracts for all of the creative team, Assist with opening and closing night ticketing and party arrangements, Troubleshoot problems, Process Workers Compensation
Assist in Production supervision: Assist in arrangements with rehearsal and performance rental facilities, Coordinate schedules, Distribute paperwork, Monitor production costs and budgets, Execute agreements to rent TFANA’s costumes & props
Assist General Manager: Personnel issues, Office management, Interface with outside consultants (press rep, casting rep, advertising agency), Coordinate with other departments as needed, Assist with symposia coordination, Assist and coordinate readings, workshops, and other support of future projects.
Generate marketing materials and other collateral: Gather, coordinate and edit Playbill materials, Assist in proofreading season brochure and press releases
