Junior Bookkeeper, Wynberg & Plumstead, Southern Suburbs. Junior Bookkeeper position for a Retirement Home, based in the southern suburbs (Diep River) area to start immediately. Reports directly to the Accountant and Director.

Behavioural Competency, Previous accounting/bookkeeping experience, Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing, A stable track record, Honesty and integrity, Patience with repetitive tasks, Methodical and systematic working style. Accuracy Attention to detail.

Well organised Maintain confidentiality. Take responsibility for work. Works well under pressure. Able to work with independently. Fluent in English.

Duties include the following, but not limited to: Assist and report to the Accountant and Director. Bookkeeping to trial balance. Subsidies and state grants. Board/levies and pensions, issue of financial documentation. Trust and Senior Centre accounts & levies. Debtor Control. Creditor Control. Cash Control. Statutory Returns. Overhead Staff Administration. Overhead Staff Remuneration. Overhead Admin/Filing. Research and self-development Reporting.

Requirements: Grade 12 or equivalent. Degree or diploma in Accounting - advantageous. Relevant experience in Pastel Accounting, VIP Payroll, MS Office, SARS E-filing. Mathematical and calculation skills. Electronic Payments System. Record keeping skills. Skills in analysing information. Organisation skills. Leadership qualities towards mid- and long-term advancement. Opportunity for further advancement depending on performance.
