Junior Researcher (Citrus), Citrusdal, West Coast. Position purpose / general responsibilities. The incumbent will be required to assist with or implement both laboratory and field-based trials at the client. They will be required to oversee all temporary and permanent workers involved in data collection to ensure that the data is collected and recorded accurately. They will also be responsible for assisting with trial management and data capture.

Key Responsibilities: Implementation of production and field trials as per written and agreed-upon protocols: Prepare materials for trials. Accurate collection and recording of trial data. Oversee all temporary and permanent staff working on a research project. May be required to set up, calibrate and maintain laboratory and/or field research equipment. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Experience / Knowledge / Requirements: Diploma or degree in Entomology or related science field. Communication in both English and Afrikaans. Valid code B driver’s license. Ability to work in cross-functional teams. Critical thinking skills and attention to detail. Understanding of research methodologies and suitable technical Skills. Computer literacy – Microsoft word and excel is essential. Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards. Data collection and analysis. Willingness to work over weekends and public holidays when required to do so.
